Transforming Spaces: A Remodel Overview

Embarking on a remodel project is an exciting journey that involves a myriad of tasks, each contributing to the transformation of a space. In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at the various line items involved in a recent garage remodel undertaken by our construction company. From demolition and concrete work to the finishing touches of interior trim and cabinets, every step played a crucial role in bringing the client's vision to life. Here are a few steps we took:

The project began with the removal of interior walls and the demolition of the existing shower. To make way for the new addition, the exterior patio was cut and replaced with a new foundation. Openings for windows and doors were carefully cut and framed, setting the stage for the transformation.

Once the foundation was in place, we meticulously framed the exterior walls and roof, followed by the installation of new windows and doors.

The existing shingle roof made way for a new metal roofing system, roofing felt, metal drip edge, flashing, and ridge cap. This comprehensive roofing overhaul ensures durability and longevity for the remodeled space.

Insulation was installed in the ceilings and walls of the new addition and the designated bathroom and bedroom area, contributing to energy efficiency and climate control.

The interior spaces took shape with the framing and installation of 1/2" drywall over furring strips. A medium orange peel finish was applied to the drywall, creating a polished look.

The plumbing phase involved running and connecting pipes for the toilet, two vanity sinks, shower fixtures, refrigerator water supply, kitchen sink, and water heater, all seamlessly integrated with new septic and existing water supply systems. Modern tile was installed in both the bathroom and kitchen spaces.

Two coats of paint adorned the interior walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. The exterior received a two-tone paint job, providing a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing finish.

We laid down luxury vinyl planks over the entire interior floor. To add the finishing touch, trim was installed around interior doors and windows.

From knocking down walls to adding the final touches with trim and cabinets, every step in this remodel was carefully managed to bring the client's vision to life. If you have a space in need of a complete overhaul, contact Reddy Pros for your free estimate.
